Name a celebrity or personality who you would like to have dinner with and what would you like to talk to them about?

It’s the kind of question we’ve asked before. You set your table for a dinner party of your most regale guests. Who would you invite?

For me, it’s a very tough question. My mind flitters through various names and discards them as swiftly as they come by. Honestly, if I could sit to share a meal and conversation with anyone it would be my brother. He is not a celebrity, or known personality. He’s just a man, more a boy really, who held a special place in my life and who I miss dearly.

But, while it would be wonderful to share that time with my brother. Who else could I take a meal with, learn from, and discover a new part of myself with? Would you sit down with Steven King? William Shakespeare? W.B. Yeats?

What do you think they would want to tell you?

Like you, Rebecca, the ones who come to mind are my Papa or Grandma. I’d love to sit at the table with them again and listen to their wisdom, hear their laughter, see the twinkle in their eye but they’re no longer with us… Ah, now I’m sad. :-(

Seriously, as for a celebrity I’m not sure who I’d choose. I’ll have to think about it for a while and come back to let you know. ;-)

  2. It’s interesting how a choice like this makes us think first and formost of lost loved ones. I’ll be interested to hear who you come up with when you’ve had a chance to think about it, Michele. :-)

I would want to have dinner with Tennessee Williams. I’d like to pick that brain. :)

  4. That would be a great guest at the table. I wonder what his favorite dish would be. What do you think he’d want to share with you Grandy? Any specific wisdom? Perhaps a favorite poem? What would you ask him?

  5. Emma Thompson! No contest!

I think she’s the loveliest, cleverest actress around today, and I’d like to talk with her about everything she’s done and what she hopes to do in the future.

  6. I’m going straight for the celebs so I don’t get too sad thinking about people I miss and would like to see again. Anne McCaffrey, and Marion Zimmer Bradley top the list. I wouldn’t mind having dinner with George Clooney either, but for entirely different reasons ;)
